general facts

  • A therapy dog is a dog who volunteers with their owner in places such as schools, nursing homes, hospitals, and funeral homes to bring comfort and happiness to others.

  • No. Service Dogs are specially task and/or alert trained to assist ONLY their handler with a disability.

    This includes but is not limited to: Diabetic Alert Service Dogs, Mobility Assistance Dogs, Psychiatric Service Dogs, Epilepsy Assistance Dogs, ect.

  • No, Therapy Dogs do NOT have special public access rights like Service Dogs do.

    Service Dogs are considered to be medical equipment due to their specialized training. They are protected by ADA Federal Law and allowed into areas where pets are not allowed.

    Therapy Dogs have the same rights as a typical pet. Therapy Dogs are not protected by ADA Federal Law and do not have legal right to access areas that aren’t dog friendly.

    Once certfied, some facilities will allow your Therapy Dog to visit for therapy purposes. Access to a facility is at their discretion and teams must gain prior approval upon entering a facility regardless of being certified.

  • Dogs are not eligible to be tested and certified until they are at least 1 year of age. However, we highly encourage owners to begin preparing for the testing process through training as early as possible.

    For puppies under 6 months of age, we recommend getting started with our Total Imprint Puppy Program first!

  • This program consists of 14 1-hour private sessions with your dog & trainer.

    Clients have the option to meet once per week or once every other week for classes.

  • We do not offer a guarantee on your dog passing certification testing due to this process being largely dependent upon the owner’s handling skills & consistency with their dog.

  • The price of this program is $1,800.

    We offer 10% off of this program when your dog completes our Total Imprint Puppy Program first.

  • Your dog will stay in their trainer’s home for training for 3-4 weeks.

  • This program is $4,200.
